We’re picking up right where we left off in March, with ever declining inventories and competitive housing market that’s showing no signs of weakness. Beyond the continued low interest rates, the Baldwin County market should remain tight into summer months.  One of the factors being first time buyers (a.k.a Millennials) are coming into the market. That generation is getting married, or they have a family and are looking to upgrade into a larger home. They are drawn to the smaller communities such as Fairhope, Daphne and Spanish Fort that have undeniable great school systems.

Millennials had previously been shut out of the home buying market due to a weak economy and lackluster job prospects, while being suffocated with significant debt from college loans. According to the National Association of Realtors, Millennials as a whole made up the largest share of homebuyers over the past year. There is no doubt the Millennials have left a lasting impression on the housing market in Baldwin County, and more changes may be on the way as this next generation of home buyers continue to enter the market.

Although Millennials are tech savvy and like to do their own research, they recognize the importance of hiring a knowledgeable and trustworthy real estate agent.  Call on one of our agents to assist with every part of the real estate transaction, from finding or listing a property, securing a loan and sorting through the paperwork.
